Water Pump Function of Water Pump A water pump is mounted on the cylinder block and fastened by the bolts. It circulates cooling water by getting the driving force of crankshaft through the water pump drive belt or gear. The coolant is being sent from the bottom to the water jacket wrapping around the cylinder and cylinder head by the water pump, and the heated coolant is retrieved and cooled off in a radiator. Then, the coolant flows into the middle of an impeller and is being extruded outwardly by centrifugal force. Then, itis being flown to the cylinder block or head. Incase an engine, the heart of automobile, is heated, the coolant is being circulated to cool it down, In case the engine temperature keeps rising and even reaches up to a certain level, engine parts could malfunction. The circulation of cooling water could also be needed to operate a heater which makes water pump a significant part in an automobile. 1) Impeller: Generates rotation with the force created by water or steam 2) Cylinder head: A casting that covers the top ofa cylinder A gasket i inserted between the joint surfaces of a cylinder head and a cylinder block and fastened by bolts to prevent compressed gas from leaking. 3) Cylinder block: So-called engine block itis an engine body designed to mount a cylinder where pistons move up and down and accessories. Oil Pump Function of Oil Pump In an engine, parts need to move smoothly all the time. For this, oil reduces friction, and it is moved by an oil pump. An oil pump sucks oil from an oil pan and sends it to components. In general itis installed in an oil pan. Since all moving parts should be lubricated, ol smoothens the functioning of engine parts. An oil pump circulates carbon residues inside an engine as well as oil. They are being filtered through an oil filter and can be reused. Tensioner Function of Tensioner A tensioner is a device designed to keep the camshaft-rotating timing chain from being slackened by connecting the crankshaft timing gear and camshaft timing gear. It regulates the belt tension to keep the engine output constant. It ensures smooth belt operation and is usually round in shape. Wheel Bearing Function of Wheel Bearing Wheel bearing isa bearing attached to car wheels to transmit power. The first-generation wheel bearing is assembled between the hub and knuckle to deliver the rotation and steering of the hub.
